• If anyone wishes to rough it, there is a shelter 0.8 miles South of NOC on the Appalachian Trail  and several “stealth” spots in the area

Great Smoky Mountain Railroad- Nantahala Gorge Excursion that leaves Saturday morning in Bryson City at 10:30am.
If your non-hiking spouse/children are attending the SoRUCK, please consider treating them to this fantastic railroading adventure. The train actually passes
right through NOC property during the trip.
