cdt map montana wyoming colorado new mexico Continental Divide Trail Mailing Labels

The CDT Mailing Label page provides an easy way to create mailing labels for many of the locations along the Continental Divide Trail. Simply fill out the form below and select a location. A separate window will popup containing the completed mailing label. Print out the window and you've created your mailing label. The mailing labels are ideal for sending food, maps, guidebooks, gear, and bounce boxes to most locations along the trail. I've also included several links at the bottom of the page for planning, gear manufacturers, CDT journals and videos. Just about anything pertaining to the Continental Divide Trail can be found from this site.

The tables below are based on research done by Ron Moak (original creator of mailing labels), Jim Wolf, Jonathan Ley, Jim Owen, Jackie McDonnell, myself and others. Since most of the towns along the CDT are small and remote, the information is subject to change.

To create mailing labels: you only need to fill the form once. It will be used on any location you select.

To print mailing labels: click on desired location, right-click on popup window, select print. After printing, you can select the next location without closing window.

M-O-T- Miles off Trail to the town xx-xx = 2 distances to town depending upon where you leave, or get back on the trail.

Miles - Number of trail miles to the next trail town. Again, there may be two distances to the next town depending on which trailhead you leave from, or which route you're hiking.

Cost - The cost of holding a package. I've tried to use USPS when possible, but hostels, motels, resorts and stores may charge a fee. The phone numbers for these are listed, call first.

Note: Due to the nature of the CDT and the multiple possibilities of routes taken, this is a rough approximation of mileages between resupply points. It does not necessarily follow the "official" route especially in New Mexico. While the mileages may be off from listed sources, they tend to split the difference in Jim Wolf and Jonathan Ley mileage estimates. Regardless of the actual miles, the mileages here should work for mail drops. Allow ample time and call resorts and stores well before sending any packages for exact terms.
